You will be able to access the SafeSport training by following these instructions:

           a. Go to www.ayso121.org and login using the button in the upper right corner.

To help streamline the process, AYSO has partnered with ApplicantServices.com. Through this process, the cost has been reduced to $20 – $25 per volunteer based on the process you use. If you are fingerprinted at a live AYSO event the cost is $20 and it is $25 at a Live Scan Service Center. Please understand that this specific process has been negotiated specifically for AYSO, so you will need to register via the link provided below to receive this cost discount and to ensure the information is sent to AYSO directly from the California Department of Justice. Referee Scheduler Instructions

AYSO 121 Online Referee Scheduler Instructions

Each week, our referee scheduler needs to fill assignments for all 10U-14U games, with three referee slots per game. To optimize the process, we've set up an ONLINE referee schedule database. Not only will the new online system reduce our scheduling effort, it also allows you the opportunity to view all game assignments, and to schedule yourself into as many slots as desired (and qualified for).

Please help us by using this system for making all of your game requests.  Schedule yourself early in the week to get the best assignments, and by Wednesday at the latest to avoid the telephone calls. You may also schedule yourself for as many weeks in advance as you want!

When you sign up, your name will show up in BLUE.  When your request is approved, it will be changed to BLACK.  Check your assignment request the day before your match.  It is possible (though unlikely) that you may have been moved to another match at the same time in order to meet the needs of the region (and help the kids!).  Of course, we will try to honor all requests.

Go to: http://www.cgisports.com/ayso121/

Logon using the following:
Username = ref121 (case sensitive)
Use the password provided by your Referee Scheduler.

Enter one or more of the items on the left -- Category (division), Date, Game Time, Location, or Name (referee name). Then press the View Records button.

Assignments already taken display the referee's name. All open referee assignments will display an empty text box. Simply enter your name into the desired slots (one or more), and press the 'Make Request' button at the bottom of the page.

If you have any difficulties or questions, contact the referee scheduler.

Please help us by using this system before Wednesday of each week! And you may also schedule yourself for as many weeks in advance as you want!

Thank you,

Referee Code

Referee Code

  • Always remember that the game is for the players. Player safety and fair play come first.
  • Study and learn the Laws of the Game and understand the "spirit" of the Laws. Help fellow referees do the same.
  • Encourage and enforce the AYSO philosophies of "Everyone Plays," "Positive Coaching" and "Good Sportsmanship."
  • Respect other referees' decisions, and do not publicly criticize another official.
  • Wear the proper uniform and keep it in good condition.
  • Maintain good physical condition so you can keep up with the action.
  • Stay calm when confronted with emotional reactions from players, coaches and parents.
  • Honor accepted game assignments. In an emergency, find a replacement.
  • Support good sportsmanship with a kind word to players, coaches and parents of both teams when deserved.
  • Always be fair and impartial, avoiding conflicts of interest. Decisions based on personal bias are dishonest and unacceptable.

Referee Incentive Program

Referee Incentive Program

About the Program:

This program provides rewards based upon the level of participation of volunteer referees. It is oriented toward increased participation of referees, and there are benefits for all referees in our program.

Point Structure:

One point will be awarded for each regular season game completed on any game in division 10U or above for which that referee, or assistant referee is qualified. You must be in uniform – club lines do not count. Qualification will be determined by the referee administrator (or referee staff). Bonus points will be awarded for the following per game:

1 additional point for being a first-year referee

1 additional point for being the “center" referee

1 additional point for signing up by Wednesday midnight

1 additional point for signing up to Mentor (Intermediate/Advanced and National badge levels only)

This means that a maximum of 4 points can be earned for one game by a first-year referee, and 3 points by a returning referee. A “first year referee” is classified as one who became certified in an AYSO Regional Referee Course after January 1 of the current year.

Rewards:

Each point is worth one “Ref Buck.” A Ref Buck is worth $1.00 toward a variety of rewards in the form of referee gear. A listing of additional rewards can be found at the referee tents. Family members may combine Ref Bucks. Ref Bucks must be redeemed by December 1 of the current season.

Please find below the link to the Soccer One catalogue for your reference. We will purchase any item dollar for dollar in this catalogue with your hard earned Ref Bucks. Please follow the instructions provided outlining your request to Jim Fleckenstein via email. Please also note that we can provide movie tickets instead of referee gear.. Let us know what you'd like and we'll see if we can provide it for you. Thanks again for all your hard work and being a great AYSO volunteer!

Administration of the Program:

The administration of the Referee Incentive Program will be handled by the Referee Staff of Region 121. In addition to scheduling referees for games, the online referee scheduling system will also be used to track the point status for referees. The following procedures are to be followed:

· Referees are expected to sign up using the online system, by contacting the referee scheduler (Greg Kocis) to sign up in the referee schedule book(s) at the fields on Saturdays.

· Referees will sign in at the referee schedule book at the field prior to their games and will ensure that their names are printed on the back of the game cards at the conclusion of their games.

· Referees will notify the referee scheduler in advance of any cancellations. Cancellations prior to game day should be made via e-mail to referee scheduler (Greg Kocis) prior to 6:00 a.m. on game day, or via telephone prior to 9:00 p.m. on Friday night. · In the event of an emergency or last-minute problem, referees are expected to either contact someone at the field who may be able to notify the referee staff.

· At the conclusion of games each Saturday, the referee schedule will be reconciled against the records at the field to account for any changes or cancellations. The results will then be exported to a database to determine point totals for both referees and represented teams.

· Point totals will then be posted on the Region 121 Website no later than midnight on Mondays (scroll down to view volunteer points).

All referees have until midnight on Wednesday to notify the referee staff of any discrepancies. Notification should be via e-mail to the referee staff via (Greg Kocis) Any discrepancies will be investigated by the referee staff and a reply provided. Otherwise, point totals will be assumed to be correct and will stand.
